As the sun goes down on August ……..

We have much to celebrate in terms of golfing achievements as the Summer comes to an end. Several of our women members qualified in club competitions to go forward and compete in regional and county championships. Well done to all and thank you for flying the flag for Harwood Golf Club in our Centenary Year.
Of particular note, are three of our women who qualified to play in the regional finals of two of England Golf’s competitions and were successful in then going forward to the national finals at Woodhall Spa, the home of England Golf.
Elaine Smith and Gillian Rogers travelled to Woodhall Spa for the finals of the Australian Spoons on 10th August and finished a very creditable 4th. Lorraine Chamberlin competed in the national finals of the Race to Woodhall Spa which were held on 12th August and finished mid table from a field of 47. Both competitions are played on England’s most celebrated championship layouts and the Hotchkin course was a real test. We couldn’t be more proud of “our girls” for representing our club on the national stage.
